Top High School teams in Tennessee Compete for Cup

The top high school hockey teams in the state of Tennessee meet to decide the best team at the Predators Cup. The event is held every year in the spring at A-Game in Franklin and the Sommet Center in downtown Nashville.

This championship game is a taste of the total NHL game experience, consisting of elements such as a ceremonial face-off, a public address announcer, off-ice officials, jumbotron scoreboard and video, music during breaks in play, and locker room accomodations.

High school teams from Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville compete in a qualifying tournament to determine the participants in the Predators Cup. The city of Nashville currently has eighteen teams, Memphis has five teams, and Knoxville has four teams.

The Nashville Predators established the Predators Cup during the 1999-00 season as part of the team’s mission to increase the visibility of hockey on the amateur level in Tennessee.

The 4 mid-state teams that qualified for the 2010 Predators Cup:  JP2, Brentwood, Centennial, and Ravenwood.
