Club Director - Tracey Berry

Tracey Berry has over 30 years coaching experience at all levels of the game. She played college ball at Mott Community College, as well as 3 years at Eastern Kentucky University where she was a part of 2 Ohio Valley Conference Championship teams as a defensive specialist. After college she returned to her high school alma mater, Atherton High School (Burton, MI), where she spent 10 years coaching, and in 1993 led her team to win the Class C State Championship.   After moving to Tennessee in 1995, Tracey began coaching at Page High School in Franklin, where she won four state championships from 2000-2003. In 2004 she was named the National Federation High School Coach of the Year for the state of Tennessee. From 2005 -2007 she coached at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin finishing in the final four two of the three years. Also in 2005 she became the director and founder of Select VBC.   Select has sent seven teams to nationals in the five years of the club’s existence.   She has a passion for teaching girls the love of the game.

Tracey is currently the head coach at Ravenwood High School. She is a member of the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association as well as the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Jay has a great deal of experience and success in the sport of volleyball. He played for Indiana-Purdue University and was named to the NCAA Division I All-American team in ‘87 & ‘89. He was also named the Male athlete of the year at Indiana-Purdue University. Jay has played on Jr Olympic Teams as well as competing in the 1986 Sports Festival where he took home a Silver Medal. The success he has had playing volleyball has carried over into his coaching efforts. Impact VBC has earned at least two spots into the Jr Olympic National Tournament every year since 2000. Of course in 2006 Our 15 Teal team won the USAV Junior Olympic Championship. This is the highest finish of any team from Tennessee or the Southern Region. The 2002 17 & Under and 2003 18 & Under teams finished 2nd out of the top 64 teams in the US at the USAV JO National Championships. In 2004 our 15 & under team finished 3rd at Nationals and the 17 & Under team finished 5th.

Jess grew up in Southern California and attended St. Lucy’s Priory high school and was a varsity starter for 3 years. She played club volleyball for 5 years, playing her last two years with her dad’s volleyball club, Club West, in La Verne, CA. She then continued her volleyball career as an outside hitter for Lipscomb University. During their 2007 season, Lipscomb won the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in Lipscomb history.

This will be Jess’ fifth season with Impact and her third season coaching at the National level. During the 2008 season, she coached the first team in Impact VBC history to qualify for the Open Division at Jr. Nationals. During the summers, Jess would continue coaching at Club West where she would help run camps, clinics, practices, daily club operations, etc. Jess is currently the freshman coach at Father Ryan High School and will be graduating from Lipscomb University in December of 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.

High School: All-Sierra League Honorable Mention, Twice named First-Team All-Sierra League, Second Team All-CIF, First Team All-Inland Valley, “Adelphia” Volleyball Player of the Year and Team MVP. ...Captain of both high school and club teams.
