Question: Why did the clubs merge?

Answer: Select and Impact joined with the goal of becoming the top volleyball club in the Southeast and to be recognized year in and year out as one of the top clubs in the nation.  With the unity of both clubs, we can take the strengths of both clubs and provide the best experience for the student athlete in Middle Tennessee.

Question:  Isn’t this all about the money and not for good of the club?

Answer:  No.  The club will operate as a not for profit company.  We will be setting up and funding a college scholarship fund as well as a financial assistance program for those who qualify.  Our goal is keep fees as low as possible through careful planning and fundraising.  Any surplus at the end of each year will either be reinvested directly into the club or placed into the scholarship & assistance funds.  Also, the hourly court rental rate that Alliance is paying is far lower than the standard hourly rate.  From a facility standpoint it would make more financial sense to have other activities on the courts rather than team practices but, it is also the vision of the facility to house the best volleyball club in the region.

Question:  How do I know my daughter will be treated fairly in the team selection process?

Answer:  We have been very sensitive to this issue.  Each team selection will be by a committee consisting of Tracey, Jay, Jess, the team coach, and Lead Coach of that team.  If a decision is split, or at the request of the selection committee, the Board will make a final determination.  This same process is in place for coach selection through a selection committee.

Question:  Is it the goal of Alliance to be as competitive as possible?

Answer:  YES!  Success of a club is measured by the success of each player.  We strive to build character, integrity, and confidence in each athlete.  We also understand that the club success will be measured by its success on the court.  We will coach and train each athlete and team to reach its full potential.  We will seek the highest level of competition as we plan our tournaments, camps, and clinics.  We also understand and will focus efforts and resources toward the training and development of the younger age athletes.  These young athletes will be the future of our club.

Question:  Where is Alliance’s home?

Answer:  A-Game Sportsplex (AGS) will be the home of Alliance.  It is located at 215 Gothic Court in Franklin, TN.  AGS offers 12 volleyball courts for practices and tournaments and has first-class suspension net systems, as well as all hardwood floors, electronic score boards, bleachers and drop down divider curtains.  A mezzanine level above the courts provides for great viewing, photography and filming.  The Café serves salads, fresh fruit, and other healthy choices  as well as your typical concession foods like burgers and fries.

Question:  What else does A-Game have to offer?

Answer:  A-Game provides a variety of activities for players and their families including a fitness center, cardio room,  ice skating & hockey, Laser Chase, Bikram Yoga, Crossfit, as well as full concessions with healthy options.  Plans are also underway for two sand volleyball courts with an anticipated opening date of spring 2010.

Question:  Will there be enough court space for all of the teams?

Answer:  A-Game has reserved enough court space for practices and tournaments to accommodate all of the Alliance teams. We have also asked USBA for a partnership agreement for court rentals and hosting tournaments together should the need arise.

Question:  Will it cost more to practice at A-Game?

Answer: No.  A-Game will give the club a huge discount on court charges.  The charge will be no higher than either club paid for court rental last year.

Question:  What levels of play will be offered, and what age groups will be served?

Answer:  Players will be able to choose from national, elite, regional and developmental teams.  We will serve the developmental player as young as six, up to the experienced player at age 18.
